If you use Photoshop at all, first convert your raw file to a tiff. As big as your system will handle. Then bring in to PS. Add an adjustment layer and select "Levels". Adjust the white and black ends until it looks clean and vibrant. Play with all the settings just to see what happens. If you do it right you will get rid of a lot of the noise and get back the color depth you saw in the raw format. Save as an uncompressed jpeg or maximum quality.
It will only take small adjustments, although you can have lots of fun with more extreme adjustments.
Loading onto DA will kill the image even more. You are really just a victim of compression.

This is a must see!
It's great to see an increase in the number of new people joining the resources community here on deviantART. Since we have so many new people coming on board, I thought it would be a good time to introduce or reintroduce the team.
A former volunteer with the Artist Relations team, `kuschelirmel has always been a wonderful role model within the community.
With a vibrant and eclectic gallery that would make anyone proud, her dedication to providing informative and easy to follow tutorials, journal CSS, and inspirational stock is clearly long overdue for recognition.
