The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Any ship wrecks near Corsica? :-) Any advices? :-)

New idea for vacations! </b>
So my next option for vacation time is Corsica! Not sure if I will eventually go there, but the idea is tempting... But my big question is - ARE THERE ANY SHIP WRECKS?!
I had a dream about ship wrecks, you know? The whole shore with a ship wrecks. (Well maybe not that whole, but about 10 of them...). So are there any? I want to take photos of them! :D Don't worry about my dream though, I usually get nightmares when I go to sleep. ;)
Anyways anyone been to Corsica already? Any advices, good places to sleep, to take a photo? Tourist attractions? Maybe someone did diving there? Yup, lately I'm a big fun of diving... The problem is I wouldn't know how to wear a flipper. :rofl:
Hope you all have some good time during vacations. Students and pupils are lucky, the other people have to work hard for their new toys and have only shot time to go on a vacations...
Oh well so, did you go somewhere already? Or just planning to? Where? :> Hope you don't have that many mosquito as I have here in Warsaw, something unbelievable this year... ;)

Alez oni maja calkowita racje! Rozwoj opalenizny, miesni w trakcie siatkowki plazowej, turystyki czy tez innych roznie waznych czynnosci. Rowniez czytanie wszystkich zaleglych ksiazek. Dla Ciebie to pewnie opcja gdzies bardziej w cieniu, np. pod palmami, z drinkiem w dloni? :> Jak rowniez naukowe badania innych kultur, szczegolnie tych gdzie jest milo, dobre zarcie i z daleka od Pl. ;)

Heh jak ja nie lubie ludzi, ktorym sie wydaje, ze wiedza co jest lepsze dla innych ludzi... :/ Jak tak patrze po znajomych robiacych doktorat, szczegolnie na panstwowych uczelniach, to to jest jakis horror, kurde co ci ludzie sobie wyobrazaja, ze tak traktuja innych? :/

nooo, mam doktoranta na wydziale chemicznym we wrocku, to jak on mi opowiada to jakas masakra... ale on goopi jest, nie chce jechac do jakis emiratow czy gdzies indziej gdzie go odpowiednio wynagrodza za wiedze to w sumie sam troche jest sobie winien... chociaz chyba jestem troche nie fair, no ale coz, jakby sie mnie sluchal... ;)

Heh niestety na Korsyce nie byłam, ale na pewno jest piękna, w tych rejonach nie ma brzydkich rzeczy;)
A ja sobie wróciłam z Finlandii i jeśli chodzi o komary to nie było źle, jakieś pojedyncze sztuki tak jak i u nas. Było cudnie, co za Natura!
A co do komarów u nas - ja parę lat temu sprawiłam sobie moskitiery do okien, fantastyczny wynalazek, można wieczorem przy szeroko otwartym oknie siedzieć i mieć zapalone światło:D

A to ciekawe bo mi jakis koles z Finlandii mowil, ze tam sa okresy, ze jak zacisniesz w powietrzu piesc, to mozesz zrobic pulpet z komarow. :rofl: Troche mnie to wlasnie odstraszalo, ale widze, ze nie jest tak zle. :)
A moskitiera fajna sprawa, ale na moich oknach sie nie da zamontowac.... :/
